Hi this will be my second build and will be based on a Taylor Grand Symphony.

I will be using the following materials (although this might change)

B&S - Australian Blackwood
Top - Lutz
Bracing - Lutz
Neck - Mahogany
FB - Ebony
Bridge & Headplate - Ebony - Figured Australian Blackwood
Bindings - Holly or Curly Maple

Things might change as I come to build it but hopefully it should be as it is here. Many thanks to Wud for starting this hopefully I will finish this :)

All the best
Dave

Here you go Casey I took a few pictures of the Blackwood :)

I have a few different boards the figured boards are 42" x 11" x 1" and 40" x 5" x 2" all of them are Qtr sawn :)

I've lightly sprayed the boards with water:

Here are the boards for the backs:

Another picture of the backs:

Here's the side billet:

I've decided that on the first few builds that I will use some different Blackwood that's not so figured and I will save the better boards for later builds :)

Here are the billets that I will be using:

They are both 2" thick and have some light curl.

I'm in the middle of building my heating set-up and once I have that done I will be building a mold and bending pattern.

Thanks for looking :)
Dave

Hi Will

I bought the Blackwood from http://www.misancraftwood.com/ who are in Tasmania Australia.

Its run by a husband and wife team (Mike and Sandra) and they are great to deal and I've bought quite a bit from them.

If you cannot see what you want then ask as they will normally get hold of what you need.

They are also on Ebay http://stores.ebay.com/Misan-Craftwood?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

All the best
Dave
